I really thought that more time had passed, but no, I posted the first Gearing Up post on December 5. That makes me feel a bit better about my progress! I’m not where I want to be yet, but I’m getting there.
I have read most of three books and added two book reviews, and logged in to work on the JavaScript module at CodeCademy several times (not every day, but several times, working several lessons at a hit, so I’m getting caught up). I’m not sure I’ll finish JavaScript in December, but I’m working on it.
Where I’m still falling down is writing. My head is so full and somehow I can’t get the words out. Major changes in several areas of my life all at once, and I know that part of this is commitment anxiety; once the words are in the world, the course is set. I need to get past that and back into a place of immersing in writing as a process – of learning, of articulating change.
I’m finishing up Interop over the next couple of days, and after that I may liveblog Intertwingled. I also have some personal writing to do, and some non-library projects coming up. And my workplace is going through an ILS migration, which is surprisingly emotional and complicated; I need to process and document some of what’s going on there. I’ll check in again after the holiday.
